Silk is measured in momme(mm) which is a Japanese word used when measuring the weight of silk. The higher the momme the heavier and denser the weave is. During silk production, the factory adjusts the density to control the weight of the fabric. Higher momme silk fabrics are also made with thicker yarn: for example our 40 momme charmeuse pillowcase, which is the heaviest pillowcase on the market right now.
